In the summer of 2017, the Celtics landed the biggest free agent on the market: Gordon Hayward. Reunited with Brad Stevens, his college coach from Butler, Hayward’s career in Boston got off to an inauspicious start when he suffered a season-ending ankle injury just five minutes into his Celtics debut. He came back for the 2018-19 season to average 11.5 points per game but was hampered with injuries. Hayward returned from a concussion on his bobblehead night and showed out with a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds in a 115-96 loss to the San Antonio Spurs.
