K.C. Jones stood beside his induction display at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts. Inducted as a player, Jones won eight NBA World Championship titles on the court, as well as four more as a coach. Despite the accolades, Jones was surprised by the honor. “This is the sort of thing that happens to superstars, All-Stars and scorers, and not people who can’t shoot,” Jones said. “[M]y contribution was my brain, not my scoring ability. I just did the blue-collar-type things.” When asked what song best described his career, Jones cited Frank Sinatra’s “I Did It My Way,” then broke into a rendition himself.
